Da fine dicembre il tempo ci ha regalato un po’ di neve, di quella bella, asciutta, che a camminarci sopra fa scron-c scron-c! La neve ha rischiarato le nostre serate, attutito i rumori attorno a noi, trasformato il paesaggio in qualcosa che assomiglia tanto alla poesia. Qui la neve non e’ un problema, ma una risorsa.
Senza contare che la lepre variabile, la donnola, l’ermellino…e tutti gli altri animali che si mettono la pelliccia bianca per l’inverno sono ben lieti di mimetizzarsi il piu’ compiutamente possibile. Nell’estremo nord anche la volpe artica e qualche volatile completamente bianco…ringraziano.
Gli Zigoli gialli invece danno un tocco di colore contro il grigiore del cielo.
Some snow.
Since late December we have had some new delightful snow. That’s good, here in the north: not a problem but a natural resource. Snow lights up our evenings, softens sounds all around, transform the landscape into something very close to wonderland.
All animals who get a white livery for winter are happy to blend perfectly in the nature: the Least Weasel, the Arctic hare, the Stoat, for instance. Even the Arctic fox and other white fowl who live norther are thankful.
In my parting shot, a bunch of Yellowhammers provide a touch of colour against the grey sky.

alla fine per essere in Finlandia è nevicato fin poco, pensa che sulle nostre Alpi ci sono metri di neve, nei giorni scorsi c’erano località che hanno dovuto spalare la neve per uscire di casa….🙂

The buntings stand out well. The woods are atmospheric. After the heavy snowfall today we’re snowed in on our hilly neighbourhood. I like to hear about your wildlife.

Nice to see the benefits of snow. Well done. We have soft snow that flips trucks and closes restaurants. I think the animal weasels are better than the human weasels, and it’s best to let the Arctic hare win the race in the snow because rabbit stew is too hard to make.
