Fortunati i giovani cigni canori nati in Finlandia durante l’estate: ad inizio ottobre possono ancora esercitarsi al volo coi loro genitori, prima della migrazione verso sud e hanno un bel po’ di tempo. Solitamente i cigni sono gli ultimi ad abbandonare le terre del nord a novembre – tutti gli altri uccelli acquatici sono gia’ partiti.
Eccoli all’atterraggio. Sono graziosi sia in volo che a terra, nella luce crepuscolare del pomeriggio ottobrino.
Learning to fly.
Young Whooper Swans born in Finland during summer are quite lucky: they can still learn how to fly with their parents. At the beginning of October they have still time before migrating southbound. Swans are the last to go in November – all other water birds have started much earlier.
Here they are after landing: beautiful always, in the air as on ground, in the October twilight.

Meraviglia! Da piccola era uno spettacolo vedere radunarsi le rondini proprio nel cielo sulla vegetazione vicino a casa mia, voli su voli prima di partire per la migrazione ad Ottobre: ora sono scomparse da decenni, mi mancano! come le lucciole in giardino, scie danzanti di luce verdazzurra, la magia delle serate estive in città
