Joulunpunainen.
In other words: Christmas Red, as my blog-friend Sara posted a few weeks ago in her enchanting blog Villa Emilia.
Sara explains how in the Finnish culture the hue Christmas red exists and it is the softest and loveliest shade of red that you can imagine: for example the colour of Santa’s suit or all those many little things that make up the Christmas atmosphere. Moreover, red is the warmest of colours and it is very welcome in the heart of winter.
I have put together a few silly things myself: the packaging of a specially spiced coffee, on sale only in this time of year…
Small and cute decorations for the home: Santa with tree and a robin…
A bowl of red apples: of course they must be the “Red delicious” sort…
The warmest blanket and pillow, suitable for lingering on the sofa…
The correct dish for this season with red berries on it…
A beautiful flower, the Amaryllis: its red beauty is an alternative to the traditional Christmas star to enjoy your living-room.
Last but not least, today Finland celebrates 101 years’ independence and I’d like to wish all the best to this beautiful country: Onnea, Suomi!

First of all: ❤❤❤
The photos of this post are wonderful, dear Luisella. My very favourites are the spiced coffee (I haven’t tasted that one but Pentik has some lovely products) and the little Santa (looks like a Thun ornament – they are gorgeous). In your photos the wool looks very warm and the apples really delicious.
Thank you for this happy and warm post… and happy Independence Day to you too! We have just been watching the ecumenical church service from Helsinki Cathedral and the military parade from Mikkeli.
Big hugs!
