Magnifici cornuti.

Durante una visita al bioparco di Ähtäri,  a nord di Tampere,  ho voluto realizzare questi scatti per mostrare quanto siano eleganti e sinuose le corna delle renne.  Nelle immagini natalizie spesso le vediamo stilizzate con mille circonvoluzioni:  ebbene…sono proprio così!   Le renne sono animali mansueti,  piuttosto snelli e a loro modo aggraziati nell’andatura:  hanno lunghe gambe e portano i loro elaborati palchi con innata eleganza;  ecco perchè Babbo Natale non ha scelto mucche ma renne volanti per la sua slitta! 😉

Per fare chiarezza:  le renne vivono solo ed esclusivamente oltre il Circolo Polare Artico.

Beautiful Horns.      

When we visited Ähtäri zoo,  last summer,  I decided to take a few shots of the reindeer antlers just to show how shapely and elegant they are.  Often in Christmas images reindeer are represented with very winding horns…and so they are!  It is amazing how beautifully these animals carry their antlers.  Reindeer are tranquil animals and naturally graceful,  they have long and strong legs:  that’s why Santa decided to get them,  instead of flying cows,  for his sledge!  😉

I would like to clarify that reindeer live only north of the Arctic Circle.
