Oggi un post modaiolo! Voglio subito chiarire che le peonie nelle foto non sono mie…purtroppo! Questi fiori adorabili, splendidi e profumati li ho, fotograficamente parlando, “rubacchiati” in giro. Avete visto che colore straordinario?
Quel che mi appartiene, invece, sono questi stilosissimi stivali di gomma che uso in giardino, dal colore altrettanto appariscente: sono firmati Ristomatti Ratia. Beh…anche per fare giardinaggio ci vuole l’attrezzatura giusta, no?
Ristomatti Ratia e’ un famoso designer finlandese, figlio della signora Armi Ratia, stilista ella stessa e fondatrice del colosso di moda Marimekko e di Viljo Ratia. Marimekko e’ una delle aziende leader del settore moda in Finlandia: a partire dalla meta’ degli anni ’60 crea abiti ed accessori di un’eleganza semplice e senza tempo. Ristomatti Ratia ha collaborato sovente con Marimekko ma ha anche lanciato una sua produzione di tessuti, spugne, oggettistica per la casa, il giardino, il tempo libero. Non so se lo stilista quando ha disegnato questi Wellington boots stesse pensando alle peonie, ma a me le ricordano proprio!

Peonies on my Boots.
Today we’ll talk about fashion. First of all I would like to clarify that the beautiful, charming peonies in this post are not mine…unfortunately! I have just “stolen” them during my photo-safaris. I like peonies very much: I have chosen this particular colour for this post because they match my boots. What is truly mine, as a matter of fact, is this romantic pair of rubber boots I use in the garden: well…also for good gardening you need correct tools, don’t you?
These boots are styled by Ristomatti Ratia, a famous Finnish fashion designer, son of Mrs. Armi Ratia, herself a stylist and founder of Marimekko and Viljo Ratia. Marimekko is one of the top brands in Finnish fashion design: nowadays worldwide famous, it has produced textiles, clothes and accessories of a simple but timeless elegance since the mid-1960’s. Ristomatti Ratia has created his own range of products for kitchen, bathroom, leisure and outdoors. Who knows if he was thinking of peonies when he designed these Wellington boots…but I like to believe so.

Adoro i Wellington anche se purtroppo dalle mie parti non potrei sfruttarli al massimo, e oltretutto qui si trova solo il classico modello in vendita in ferramenta, di colore verde o marrone… Invece questi sono davvero belli 😍
