Un coltellino (molto usato).

Il tema del MakroTex Challenge di oggi e’:  un utensile.  Essendo la cuoca di casa (Oddio, cuoca e’ una parola grossa…diciamo che ho la responsabilita’ dei pasti della famiglia)  e piacendomi molto stare in cucina,  ci sono parecchi attrezzi da cucina che avrei potuto postare:  per esempio il minipimer che mi aiuta a fare le mie adorate vellutate;  o la mandolina,  per affettare fini-fini le patate e comporre i miei adorati timballi.  Ma ho scelto un utensile un po’ piu’ raro che uso volentieri in stagione:  il coltellino da funghi!  Risto e io ne abbiamo parecchi,  piu’ o meno pregiati e funzionali,  perche’ amiamo molto andare a funghi:  non tanto per i funghi che portiamo a casa,  ma soprattutto per il fatto di camminare fra i boschi,  nella quiete e nei colori dell’autunno,  magari in una giornata limpida con i rami degli alberi leggermente scossi dalla brezza…e poi volete mettere la soddisfazione di trovarli?  Seminascosti come sono nella vegetazione?  Il gioco vale la candela!

Per chi non lo conoscesse,  il coltellino da funghi ha una lama non molto tagliente,  utile per eradicare i funghi dal terreno e una spazzolina all’altra estremita’,  utile per pulire dalla terra il prezioso prodotto:  questa operazione consente anche di lasciare sul terreno piu’ spore possibile.  Nelle foto qui sopra un coltellino di Marttiini,  una famosa coltelleria finlandese e qui sotto un coltellino con misuratore…per quantificare il raccolto.

A little knife.         Today’s  theme in MakroTex Challenge is:  a tool.  I am of course the cook in the family (perhaps cook is a big word for me,  better say I am responsible for the family’s meals) and I like it,  so I could post several kitchen tools:  for instance some food processor which helps me make my favourite velvet sauces or timbales;  instead I have chosen a rarer tool which I anyway use very much in its season:  the mushroom knife!  Risto and I have a few knives because we like going looking for mushrooms;  we like walking in the quietness of the colurful autumn forests,  hearing the wind blow through the branches,  some falling leaves…  We like finding mushrooms most!  Especially when they are half-hidden in the vegetation:  that is a great reward for your search…eating them is only a secondary pleasure.

In these photos you can see a few models of mushroom knives.  Just if you are not acquainted with this tool:  there is a blade on one end,  to help uproot your findings from the earth and a small brush on the other to help clean them and drop their precious spores. 

Marttiini is a famous Finnish manifacturer and the foldable knife has a short metre on its handle,  to measure your booty!

  9. We know all about stainless steel cutting tools here in Sheffield, Yorkshire and your collection of mushroom knives by Marttiini look stylish as well as useful.   21. Sara carissima, secondo le mie indagini quello nero (che ho raccolto per pura curiosita’ per farlo vedere a Risto) si chiama Mustamörsky e sembra essere anche edibile! Ma io non l’ho nemmeno toccato con le mani!!! Ciao. Baci.

  24. the mushroom knife was a good choice. i am a mushroom lover but i have never picked wild mushrooms!! i go through stages with cooking, right now i am in a – i love it stage!!!!

  26. Bellissimo post, interessante, ma soprattutto pieno di bellissimi ricordi. Se non ricordo male ultima estate che siamo venuti a trovarvi. Graziano era veramente soddisfatto e felice quel giorno anche perché se ricordi non era facile trovarli, quell’anno si facevano molto desiderare. Mi sarebbe piaciuto che tu avessi visto la sua faccia quando lo ha visto. 😄😙🤗🤗 grazie cara un abbraccio grande grande.
