Tra Italia e Finlandia

Qualche anno fa ho trovato questa carinissima serie di spillette in un negozietto all’aeroporto di Monaco di Baviera,  durante uno dei miei molti transiti e ne ho fatto un calendario dell’Avvento.  La struttura e’ un triangolo di legno sul quale ho attorcigliato un filato di lana cotta.  Un lavoretto semplicissimo.

Il giorno 24 dicembre e’ un giorno importantissimo in Finlandia:  e’ il vero inizio delle celebrazioni natalizie.  Tradizionalmente alle 12.00 del 24 dicembre tutte le attivita’ si fermano e i finnici si dedicano al programma natalizio:  nel pomeriggio la messa per chi crede,  una visita al cimitero per accendere una candela splendente nell’oscurita’ e ricordare i nostri cari,  la sauna e infine il cenone.  Praticamente in Finlandia il Natale dura un giorno in piu’!

Ormai Natale e’ arrivato:  con questo post voglio augurare Buone,  serene, dorate Festivita’ a tutti!  Circondatevi di calore,  questo e’ il mio augurio.  Soprattutto cercate di donare il vostro  TEMPO e la vostra vicinanza a chi amate:  non c’e’ miglior regalo!

A few years ago,  during one of my frequent stopovers in Munich airport,  I found this cute series of pins in a small shop there.  I made up my own Advent calendar:  the structure beneath is a wooden triangle and a rope of felt wrapped around it. Very simply.

December 24th is a very important day in Finland:  it is the actual beginning of the Christmas celebrations.  At midday all activities stop and people spend time in the  traditional way:  afternoon church service for the ones who believe,  a visit to the cemetery to lit up a shining candle in the darkness and remember those who have passed away,  sauna and Christmas dinner.  Here in Finland we make Christmas last one more day!

Christmas is here…Joulu on nyt… I would like to wish Happy Christmas days to everyone!  Make the most of this precious time.  Stay warm,  in every sense!  The most important thing is to give  TIME  and understanding to your dearest:  there is no better present!
