Piccioncini.

Loving doves.   Two turtle doves shot in a moment of tenderness.  The location is the weathercock on top of Villa Balladoro in Povegliano Veronese.  (Unfortunately,  not a very sunny day…)  Because of this behaviour,  they stand for tenderness itself in the Italian popular imagination.

  3. Thank you, Jesh. The snow in south Finland is coming and going until now: not yet stable. Let’s hope for closer to Christmas! Temperatures very close to zero C. Have a nice Advent and thanks for your visit.

  4. Seeing the two turtle doves reminds me of the Twelve Days of Christmas song. Your photos of the two birds on the weather vane is charming. I looked up Villa Balladoro and it looks like a beautiful place to visit. I wish we had the opportunity to travel around Italy and see other wonderful regions. Sending greetings for a blessed Advent season in Finland. Keep warm!
