Un colorato centro città.

Ad ottobre 2010 Risto e io abbiamo avuto modo di visitare la bellissima cittadina di Tours,  situata nella Francia centro-occidentale,  nella regione Valle della Loira.  Nelle foto:  una passeggiata serale nel centro storico,  inserito  nel Patrimonio Culturale dell’Umanita’ dall’Unesco.  L’edificio nelle foto sopra e’ la stazione ferroviaria,  illuminata con luci che cambiavano colore continuamente;  sotto: il municipio.

Tours non e’ affatto piccola:  conta oltre 300.000 abitanti ed e’ stata in passato persino capitale del Regno di Francia per qualche tempo.  Oggi e’ una cittadina moderna e sede di una prestigiosa universita’.  Quella sera il tempo era mite e il centro citta’ era affollato di gente nei bistro’ all’aperto,  specialmente di giovani.  Ci ha dato l’impressione di un luogo pieno di vita,  oltre che culturalmente interessante.

Una caratteristica del centro di Tours,  come di molte zone delle citta’ francesi,  sono le case a graticcio,  che rendono l’insieme particolarmente pittoresco.

A colourful old town.     In October 2010,  hubby and I visited the beautiful and cozy town of Tours,  in mid-west France,  in the region of the Loire Valley.  In my photos:  an evening walk through the old town,  a Unesco Cultural Heritage site.  In the first photos:  the main train station,  illuminated by coloured changing lights and the Town Hall.

A medium-sized town,  Tours has more than 300,000 inhabitants.  In its long history it was the capital town of the French Kingdom for some time.  Today Tours is a modern town with  a well-known university.  The night we were there,  the climate was mild  and many people were sitting outside bistros enjoying the fine air.  We saw in particular many young people and we got the impression of a very lively town.  Characteristic features of the pretty old part of Tours are the half-timbered houses,  which make the site very picturesque and historically interesting.

  6. Adoro le luci delle città di notte 🖤💛 No le vedo spesso perché vado a dormire molto, ma molto presto. Ieri sera mi sono coricata alle otto 😀 Perciò te tue foto le apprezzo molto ❤️ Non è che esco spesso di sera. Felice martedì, Luisella!

  31. Never even heard of Tours, and am pleasantly surprised – like the atmosphere of a university city !(maybe because I was so long a student:)). The train station and the town hall are beautiful!
    Dont worry – came here yesterday, because at my blog I was not able to see the linky list and wanted to see if you already had linked (it happens when there’s a heavy fog, rain, storm, or snow, since I live 3000 feet on the mountain).
