L’alba del 28 dicembre di un anno qualsiasi in Finlandia lungo la statale Somero-Salo. Sono le ore 9.40.

Anche se il sole sorge cosi’ tardi, l’aurora inizia molto prima: verso le 8.30 alla latitudine di Somero si puo’ vedere il chiarore del giorno. Le albe ed i tramonti al nord durano molto piu’ che nel sud del mondo.

Queste tre foto sono un po’ scure solo perche’ ho puntato verso il sole, ma il cielo era luminoso. Man mano che si sale verso nord, invece, l’alba viene sempre piu’ tardi e la luce del giorno è sempre meno intensa perche’ il sole è sempre meno alto sull’orizzonte.

In the photos, sunrise on December 28th of any year along the Somero-Salo road, in Finland. Time is 09.40 A.M. Sunrise and sunset in the north last longer time than in the south of the world, therefore even if sun rises so late still you can see bright since 08.30. These few photos are dark because my objective was aiming at the sun, but the sky was normally bright; it is like that in Somero latitude. Whereas days are shorter as you travel northbound and light is less brilliant, because the sun is lower above the horizon.
