12Anche nel centro storico di Praga,  nella spettacolare citta’ vecchia denominata “Stare Mesto”,  a Pasqua si svolge un mercatino coloratissimo.  Nella prima foto in alto vedete le bancarelle sistemate proprio nel centro della piazza. 

La citta’ vecchia di Praga risale al medioevo:  e’ un intreccio di viuzze intervallate da piccole piazzette,  palazzi imponenti,  torri e strade acciottolate.  La piazza centrale,  protagonista di questo post,  nacque come piazza del mercato,  ma oggi vi si affacciano i piu’ prestigiosi palazzi della citta’.

L’ imponente cattedrale gotica che la domina si chiama Santa Maria di Týn ed e’ il secondo santuario piu’ grande della citta’;  benche’ seminascosta dai palazzi circostanti,  la bellezza assoluta della sua facciata e delle guglie ruba la scena a qualsiasi altro elemento architettonico.

Easter in Prague.

In the heart of Prague,  in the spectacular old town called “Stare Mesto”,  a colorful market takes place at Easter.  In the first photo above you can see the stalls arranged right in the center of the main square.

The old town of Prague dates back to the Middle Ages:  its urbanism is a tangle of alleys,  small squares,  imposing buildings,  towers and cobbled streets.  The main square,  the protagonist of this post,  which was first a market square,  today it is surrounded by the most prestigious buildings in the city.

The imposing Gothic cathedral that dominates the square is called Church of Our Lady before Týn and is the second largest sanctuary in the city;  although half-hidden by the surrounding buildings,  he sheer beauty of its façade and spiers draws your attention away from any other architectural element.

  17. Sono stata a Natale 2019 a Praga. Bellissimo, ma freddo. Meno male che c’era il Vin brûlé. Non sapevo che fanno mercatini anche a Pasqua. Chi sa, se hanno una bevanda tipica (alcoolica) anche in questo periodo … 😉
